Q: What led you to choose dermatology?
A: Out of all the specialties in medicine, dermatology was my absolute favorite. I think I loved the relationships that you build with your patients and the pure joy and tremendous satisfaction you get when a patient feels how good healthy skin looks. Plus, I love the artistry involved in cosmetic and surgical dermatology, it’s very exciting and fun for me as well. It was really an easy choice when I think about it!
Q: Is there a specific patient or a patient experience that has made an impact on you?
I think you always remember the first patient who you diagnosed with a skin cancer. It is the most important aspect of dermatology and our ultimate goal is always protecting patients from skin cancer when we are examining the skin. For me, it is a reminder of how much I appreciate patients who put their trust in me to manage their health. I have also loved every moment when a teenager gives me the biggest smile because their acne is clear, and they are so happy. Or, every time someone suffering from a full body skin rash finally gets relief. And of course, I must admit, the excitement from a cosmetic patient when their Botox finally kicks in never gets old either.
Q: What would you do if you were not a Dermatology Physician Assistant?
A: I love animals so much, I’d probably be a vet.
Q: What’s your favorite procedure to perform?
Lip filler.
